Insight: The Raw Material God Used In Creation by gEO

We say man creates, but not from nothing. He needs somewhere to start from. He needs something to start with. Give him a raw material and he will make wonders.

God too creates and we say he does so using nothing. True it is for he did not source raw materials to mould you and I plus all other created things whether visible or invisible. This fact gives God superiority and sets him apart as the all powerful being that needs nothing to make something; an ability no one else will ever possess.

In this we as humans find ourselves as weak; which we are. Inadequate; which we are and all the more insignificant; which we are. The feeling that comes upon me is that of uselessness. As a being with a fragile soul I tend to devaluate who I am as I process this knowledge. But I came across an interesting scripture which brought joy to my heart and strengthened me. Colossians 1:16,

“By him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible whether they be thrones or dominions, or principalities or powers: all things were created by him and for him.”

Remember the Genesis account of creation? God created all things using his words when he spoke. How about the scripture that teaches that in the beginning was the word and that word was Christ? Do you remember? It’s by the same Christ that God created. God spoke Jesus the word then you and I came in to existence. What that means is that God actually created everything out of something and that something is Jesus. He (Jesus) is, therefore, the Raw Material God used to craft things seen and unseen. Jesus is the basic unit of every created thing, in him everything holds together (Colossians 1:17) and through him were all things created.

I mean not to say that Jesus is a molecule but my intention is to put across a higher truth that in Jesus all things are held together therefore creation remains in balance. Another deep truth in this is that that though God is so superior that we measure up to nothing but a speck of dust at the bottom of an ocean floor; the one who holds us together is God himself – Jesus. That means we should never feel useless or hopeless for the Raw Material that God used to mould us is far much greater than depression, hurt, suffering, persecution and all manner of affliction. The very basic unit of our mind, body and soul is Jesus.

So look at your body, face yourself in the mirror and say these words “God created me using Jesus who holds me together.” The raw material that God used to make you and everything else in the universe is Jesus…Jesus. He is before all things and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:17.
